Automation Productivity Frames

Robot frames need to be as stiff as possible, and none are stiffer than those using CompoTech tubes. They are high modulus and precise square section tubes, and enable robots to perform faster, thus improving the productivity of the whole production line.

We cost our tubes on type and amount of carbon in the tube.  This is calculated on the amount and type of carbon fibre used to meet the stiffness and strength required.

For example if you require 32mm aluminium tube I can compare our composite tube of 28mm ID with 2mm wall thickness using high strength - standard modulus T700 carbon.

The third tube is an example of how we can design the manufacture of our tube to meet your requirements.  In this example if you required a tube with the same bending stiffness as a 32mm aluminum tube with 2mm wall thickness we can reduce the wall thickness of the composite tube using less fibre in the product to get the same bending stiffness as the aluminum tube.  This allows us to optimise the weight and also the cost to you.  For the same bending stiffness we can get half the weight but double the breaking stress.  When compared to a steel section we can usually look at 1/3 of the weight as a benchmark.
