CompoTech tubes result in lighter and/or stiffer drive shafts. With the extra stiffness comes higher whirling speeds, or longer shafts, which may in turn reduce the need for intermittent bearings. CompoTech also has experience with bonding in ends to take high torsion. Very stiff shafts have been made for CNC lathes, very strong shafts for trucks, and glass fibre “well insulated” shafts for trolleybuses and generators. For the aircraft industry, CompoTech has made prop shafts and high lift flap drive shafts.
